GB day-ahead wholesale price (£/MWh), sourced from the Elexon Insights Solution at up to 30-minute resolution, aggregated to the granularity shown at longer ranges. Longer ranges will fill in as more history is collected.
What each range actually covers
"Week", "year" and so on are convenient labels, but the underlying data is always a specific run of calendar time ending now. This table shows the resolution and span behind each tab above.

About this data
Kate Morley's original National Grid: Live has tracked GB system data since the site launched, and its "All time" view is the closest precedent for the range above - here, "All time" runs back as far as Elexon's BMRS history goes, with older data aggregated into coarser (e.g. monthly or seasonal) points to keep charts readable.
Wholesale prices are volatile day to day and were exceptionally high during the 2021–2023 global gas price crisis, so long-range charts are usually shown on their own scale rather than forced to match the short-range ones.
